Local visibility built from nothing

A one-person training practice in a small Midwestern town had almost nothing online a new client could find. I built the website, then a system that writes and schedules a week of posts at a time, with the owner approving every step.

Light dumbbells, a folded towel, a phone and a notebook on a wooden bench in a bright training studio

The Challenge

He works mostly with adults over 45, people recovering from injuries and beginners who find gyms intimidating, so trust matters more than reach. There was an unused website, a social page still carrying an older version of the brand and no real Google listing. Someone who met him at a farmers market had no easy way to look him up and book, and the budget was small and fixed.

What I Built

  • A single-page website on his own domain, live within a month, with an icon set cut from 1 MB to 4 KB so it loads fast
  • An abandoned login page for an old blogging platform removed from the server, then the site checked to make sure nothing else broke
  • A weekly system that plans the topics, writes seven posts, makes the images with the trainer's own likeness and schedules the week, in about eight minutes
  • Two approval steps, one at the plan and one at the finished posts, so nothing reaches the public without him seeing it
  • A nightly check that reads back what actually got published and stays quiet unless something is wrong

Results

It runs on his own account rather than mine, because a business should never have to rent its own social presence back from its consultant. More about this kind of work: marketing and websites.
